Kundalini Yoga Retreat on Vis Island

Kundalini Yoga novadays is mostly connected to the Kundalini Yoga as it was tought by Yogi Bhajan in the western countries, but in this retreat Kundalini energy is seen as a universal concept dating much more earlier in the history of yoga, referring to the dormant energy at the base of our spine. In the process of „awakening“ it moves up the spine and stimulates an expansion of consciousness. You´ll experience yourself in a whole different way, learning the access to your full potential through kundalini shakti, your essence or the eternal Self.

Accommodation and Food:

Stonehouses and villas in Croatia are beloved retreat places for guests from all around the world. Island of Vis is one of this places, where you can get the experience of the Mediterranean in its whole splendour.
The villa is secluded, located about 200 m above the sea, surrounded by cypresses and wonderfully smelling herbs. It consists of three apartments, each with two bedrooms (with double or twin beds). The maximum number of participants is 12 (with additional 4 sleeping-possibilities).
During your stay you can enjoy three meals a day: breakfast after the morning yoga practice, lunch and light dinner, cathered by chef Tamara Domljanović. The attention is payed to local and seasonal products, as pranic as possible, herbal teas with local plants, smoothies, dry fruits, bars and of course, good quality coffee for coffee lovers.


Marieke de Lange & Tim Schipper are the cofounder of the Kundalini Yoga School Online Platform for a broad audience, developing their own approach to kundalini yoga based on experience and insights over the past ten years. Within a single session you will find yourself practising classical asanas, breath-work, mudra, rhythmic exercises and chanting. You don’t necessarily need to be flexible but the practice will stretch your comfort zone in many ways, allowing you to expand your awareness, release emotional and physical tension, build strength and vigour, become physically and mentally stronger and healthier, transcend your limitations and feel deeply connected to yourself.

After 10 years of Hatha Yoga, Marieke started to practice Kundalini in 2011 and is teaching on a daily basis via Kundalini Yoga Amsterdam. In 2013 she also completed her Kundalini Yoga Therapy training. She loves to share her broad knowledge about the yoga wisdom & lifestyle in her classes to empower everybody to live healthy and happy lives using Yoga as direct key to overall well being of body, mind and spirit. With her background as a theatre director she finds in Kundalini Yoga all the possible tools to awaken one’s creativity and potential. Self­observation is playing a key role throughout the practice towards self­discovery.

Tim integrates Yoga with Psychology. An early fascination for the mind made him choose to study Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. During his studies he practised Yoga & Meditation, which introduced him to a new awareness of thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. He encourages a daily Kundalini Yoga practice, allowing a new perspective on problems and challenges, instead of looking for ‘perfect solutions’ from the dualistic mind only. In his classes he guides his students to establish themselves in their hearts, towards a life filled with compassion and kindness.
